look into the industry

In the past semester, I’ve embarked on a compelling journey delving into my passion for animation. Following the completion of my stop-motion animation project, “Carrot,” I was thrilled to receive the prestigious Best London Student Animation Award from the Royal Television Society. Eager to showcase my work to a wider audience, I submitted my animations to various film festivals, resulting in selections at the London Short Film Festival’s “How Are You?” segment, as well as being featured in Staff Picks at ARFF Amsterdam and ARFF Berlin.

Attending the defense and award ceremonies for my selected films not only brought recognition but also provided valuable opportunities for networking. Engaging with fellow animators allowed me to expand my connections and gain insights into the diverse perspectives within the animation industry. While contemplating a future in stop-motion animation in the UK post-graduation, I’ve also cultivated connections with Chinese animators. Through online platforms, I’ve established relationships with professionals working in stop-motion animation in China, and their warm invitations have sparked the possibility of a future visit.

During this transformative semester, I had the privilege of collaborating with a talented team on the production of “Wearwolf,” a captivating stop-motion animation. The process of creating this film offered a rich learning experience, exposing me to novel stop-motion production techniques and enhancing my skills in collaboration and project management.
